From: Governor Janalee McClure REMINDER: Our next Cabinet meeting for the 2005-2006 year will be January 15, 2006 at the Newaygo County Commission On Aging, 93 Gibbs, White Cloud.  Cabinet meetings are open to all Lions in District 11E1
SPECIAL NOTICE
From: PDG Stan Preshaw, District 11E1 Peace Poster Chairperson

PEACE WITHOUT BORDERS is the PEACE POSTER Theme this year
· If your Club is sponsoring a contest, please send the “District Governor Postcard” from the kit so we know that your club is participating.
· It is important that local contests be completed in order to meet the District deadline. November 15th is the postmark deadline for a club to send one winning poster per contest to the District Governor: Governor Janalee McClure, Box 177, Brohman, 49312. Make sure the “Winner Sticker” is completed and affixed to the back lower right hand corner of the poster.

IN ADDITION, YOU COULD CONSIDER DOING A LITTLE EXTRA:
· Publicize your winner. Put an article in your local paper in News Briefs giving the name of the Club winner. Be sure to include the Theme ‘Peace without Borders’.
· Plan now to sponsor the contest next year. One Club in our District bought the new Peace Poster Kit in January and sponsored the contest in the school in the Spring!

If your Club sponsors the winning peace poster in our District, your winning artist and the family will be invited to our Sunday Morning Awards Brunch, April 23rdduring our 11E1 District Convention. Your winner will be honored during the ‘unveiling of the poster’ and your winner will also receive a $100.00 Savings Bond from the District. Your Club is responsible to get the family to Traverse City but the District will pay for the brunch.
